Our Services

Guided Experiences

Alpine - Ideal for those seeking full-service, comprehensive Colorado experiences, the Alpine Experience is our most booked offering. It includes all transportation, with pick-up and drop-off directly from your hotel or accommodation. Experiences range from mountain town visits and sightseeing to hiking and off-the-beaten-path discoveries. Personalized to each guest’s preferences, expect stunning views, local knowledge, cold drinks, local snacks, and an unforgettable day exploring the Centennial State.

Tundra - Are you equipped with transportation and comfortable navigating Colorado's scenic mountain roads? Tundra guests will meet at the trailhead ready to explore. After a guided and interpretive hike on one of our favorite trails, stick around to chat about all things Colorado while enjoying a cold local drink or salty snack.

Please note: Guided Experiences are typically half-day (3-4 hours) or full-day (6-8 hours), but we offer full flexibility for customizations, accommodating shorter or longer outings upon request.

Based on weather, trail conditions, preferred duration, group needs, ability levels, and more, we custom-design outings to create your perfect experience. Snacks, water, extra gear, and additional necessities will be provided. Hikes vary in length, from leisurely nature walks to ambitious full-day alpine pursuits.

Corporate Outings

Slow Flow Corporate Outings harness the power of nature to foster connection and playfulness among colleagues. We specialize in designing and facilitating a wide range of experiences, from nature-oriented workshops to immersive full-day or multi-day retreats. Activities and exercises are curated to align with each group's unique size and objectives. Participants leave our corporate events with improved communication skills, enhanced bonds with their team members, increased morale, a greater sense of well-being, and enhanced creative problem-solving skills.

Forest Bathing / Nature Immersion

Forest Bathing and Nature Immersion is a slow, intentional outdoor experience. Using a series of facilitated exercises (invitations), we tap into the power of stillness in nature. Through this guided, unplugged experience, guests often walk away with reduced stress and a heightened sense of relaxation, awareness, and presence.

Who We Are

Welcome to Slow Flow Guiding! I'm Jonathan Schwartz, founder and lead guide. My journey began in 2012 when I transitioned from the corporate world to become a Trip Leader for Backroads, the gold standard in experiential active travel. After a decade of guiding both domestically and internationally, I made Colorado my home in 2017. Leveraging my unique background and extensive experience in travel, hospitality, and leadership, I bring safety, excitement, and meticulous attention to every outdoor endeavor.

As an avid outdoorsman, I thrive on the duality of adventure and stillness found in nature. I am a patient teacher, keen listener, thoughtful leader, wilderness advocate, and lifelong learner. Through Slow Flow Guiding, I aim to provide unique, local experiences while helping people slow down, reconnect, and take things less seriously.

Jonathan is a joy. A stellar leader and guide. He was a professional all the way. His energy, amiable personality and overall presence made the trip even better than I expected. He was supportive and encouraging and made each ride - even the challenging ones - a happy experience. Jonathan understands instinctively the right way to treat guests - with authenticity and interest - not overbearing nor fake. He is absolutely a wonderful person whom I feel lucky to have met.
